Geometry and Form: Expression Through Architecture Design Element and Principle
Group Project
7 person per group
In this project, we are going to explore basic elements and principles and process them into a 3D form and shape. From the progress we were able to learn different basic element, principle and transformation since we have the hand on experiences form it. During this progress to final outcome we were require to continuosly produce product form each of our tutorial class in each week. In this project we were intent to make a centralization model from our tattoo stamp.
Progress
In each turtorial class we are require to produce one work or part at the end of turtorial. In first turtorial we go for the basic of element and principle and produce tattoo stamp from it but is just free handdrawing at this state. After the basic we were require to produce a draw from our frist tattoo stamp by using ruler and scale. After all those basic work we go for something more complex where we started to add some transformation into our tattoo stamp by choosing two different tattoo stamp from previous work and transform them into our part 3 work. This are the tranaformation we had choose : centralization, datum, rule of thrid, triangle rule, golden ratio, gradiation for two of the tattoo stamp transformation. In part 4 we start to produce six different model from a choosen tattoo stamp from part 3. After all of it, we choose one element from a model then transform to 6 different type of cube : solid, shell and framing. Last but not least we combine two model for each categories (solid, shell and framing) to produce our final three model.
Here is our Progress Sketch in Each Part
Final Outcome
In our final outcome there contain our idea on different part of the progress. Last thanks to all of my team member!
Reflection
In this project, I gain TGC 1, Discipline-Specific Knowledge, TGC 2, Lifelong Learning, TGC 5, Interpersonal Skill. From this project, I learn the basic knowledge of Architectural Design such as basic elements (circle, square and triangle), basic principles (rhythm, repetition, centralised, overlapping and point and lines) and basic transformation (datum, golden ratio, rule of thirds and triangle rules). This makes me feel I'm learning in-deep on this module and learning that basic knowledge makes me be more intellectually engaged when it comes to producing a model. Rather than build it blindly by learning those basic it gives me more idea when building those structure. Another thing I learn from this project is the communication between team members when coming to conflict.
